The 2007 Port Lover's Wine Club selection is ready. Club members who have their wine shipped should already have received their wine. The 2007 Selection is one bottle each of our California NV Port, Barbera Port and Merlot Port.
Each port bottle is hand dipped in a colorful wax to provide an attractive cap and presentation for your holiday gift giving. The bottle is so beautiful that you won't want to open it. Do it anyway* so you and your guests can enjoy these wonderful Port wines.
California NV Port
Bing cherry is the color you first notice in this beautiful NV (non-vintage) Port. Cherries are the predominate flavor which gives you a rich, warm feeling. This is a blend of six different Portuguese varietals: the Alvarelho, Bastardo, Sousao, Tinta Cao, Tinta Amarilla and the Touriga Nacional. Pair this with your favorite chocolate dessert or your favorite blue cheese.

Barbera Port
Your eyes are treated to the deepest, darkest, mahogany color. Your nose will be invited to enjoy the soft aromas of fresh ripe figs. Upon your first sip you'll experience smooth, soft and fleshy textures. That calls for another taste. Serve with honey-sweetened figs or a rich Stilton cheese.

Merlot Port
This Port has a dark, velvety scarlet color and an aroma of ripe plums. The flavors impart raspberries. This Port is very smooth and silky and calls for a tart made of raspberries and decorated with crème fraiche. This would be a lovely finale to a rich Thanksgiving feast.

*To remove the wax cap:
Hold under hot running water for ten seconds.
Score the softened wax with a sharp knife.
Remove the cap. Uncork. Pour and enjoy.
