| | 2006 Amador County Signature Petite Sirah – This noble grape was originally called Durif when it was discovered in 1880 in a small vineyard in the south of France. It still is called by that name in other parts of the world. We call it Petite Sirah. Enjoy this dark, spicy wine with a slowly cooked winter stew flavored with your favorite of lamb, pork or beef. Whether on the table with a hearty meal or as a satisfying end to a long winter’s day, it can hardly be matched. Once you try it, you’ll begin to understand why university botanist Francois Durif chose to give the grape his own name when he discovered it. |
